Tattooing Hourly Rates Featured

What are the hourly tattoo rates in your area.  If you got a tattoo this past year and were charged hourly, how much was the hourly rate?  Please list the city and state you got the work done but only if it was done in a tattoo shop or by a professional tattooists so, if you got a great deal by Scratchy Joe out of his garage, we're not interested.  It would be interesting to determine what the average tattooing rates are in various part of the world.  If you got the work done outside of the U.S. tell us the country, city and hourly rate.  If would great if you would only respond if you got tattooed based on an hourly rate or if you are a professional tattooist that charges by the hour.

If you were quoted different rates for serviced e.g. custom tattooing, flash work or cover up work.  For the sake of avoiding a lengthy debate over what makes a professional tattooists, let agree for the sake of trying to find a realistic average and useful information that a professional tattooist is one who is licensed where required and with at least five years of shop experience.  The purpose of this survey is not to disclose individual artists or shop rates but instead to provide useful information to potential clients so, they can better prepare for their tattooing projects.  Please do not list any artists or shops by name.  While it may interesting to know wheather or not you felt you got your money's worth that information is not necessary.

Here in LA it seems the average is about $175 per hour for an average tattooist.
